About my assigment : Social Media Tool: LinkedIN

Assalam , today i will share with u all about my assignment that i have to do .. its about LinkedIn ... So, i hope for those yg xtw what is LinkedIn will know it .. This is the information sharing for today...

Introduction

A business-oriented social networking service.
Founded in December 2002 and launched on May 5, 2003
Mainly used for professional networking
Background
The company was founded by Reid Hoffman and founding members from PayPal 
and Socialnet.com

Function
Allows users (workers and employers) to create profiles and "connections" to 
each other in an online social network.
Users can invite anyone (whether a site user or not)

Application
An amazon reading list (display books they are reading).
A connection to tripit, and a Six Apart, Wordpress and TypePad application 
(display their latest blog posting within their LinkedIn profile)



SWOT analysis

  STRENGHTH
Detailing of profile is very effective
Useful, and powerful, tool to promote your brand  


  WEAKNESSES
Prone to unverified or fake profiles
Difficult options for communicating directly


   OPPORTUNITIES
Integrate with IM/Skype to provide better communication
Integrate with telephone operators to increase reach

 THREATS
Government regulations for maintaining privacy
Fake accounts and hacking instances

and opportunities.

Conclusion
LinkedIn has been growing rapidly across the board, but competition in the social
 media space is rampant.However, in the near future there is no visible threat
 to the dominance of Linkedin as the preferred professional connection platform.
